Strathmore is a suburb on the northern part of Melbourne that has gone through a population boom in recent years, due to its proximity to the airport, near a major shopping hub and direct access to a major highway.

The proposed development, which is 3 x double storey townhouses, is a response for an increasing demand for more quality housing that outstrip supply in the area. Each townhouse is well articulated in response to a challenging site which has steep fall across the land. This challenge presents an opportunity to design each townhouse to be separate from each other, with uninterrupted view of the Moonee Ponds Creek and nearby reserve because while still protecting the privacy of each property and surrounding neighbours.

The design of the roof and materials used play a homage to the aviation history of the suburb and at the same time allow for natural lights to drench into every part of the house due to the design of the windows and their placement. Each townhouse is designed to allow for bigger backyard and outdoor space, suitable for a growing family of its occupant.
